Wendy Davis: Gov. Perry Comments on Abortion 'Demean' His Office

Democrat Texas State Senator Wendy Davis, who spurred excitement among leftist media outlets for her 11-hour filibuster over a proposed late-term abortion ban in the state, appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday. There, she slammed Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) for pointing out that Davis has led a successful life despite having a child as a 17-year-old.

“His comments really demean the high office that he holds,” she said, “and I think that’s why we saw such a strong reaction to it.” She also vowed to fight on in favor of the killing of unborn children at 20 weeks (five months), stating, “We will fight as we begin the session again on Monday. I don’t think that we will concede that the battle is over.”
