New York magazine takes a look at how current Mayor Bill de Blasio is already beginning to change New York. It doesn’t sound so bad if you like crime, homeless people, and ferrets.
Yes, ferret ownership is on track to be legal again in New York City after a longish, expensive process. If they can be taught to work as guard ferrets and sniff out crime suspects, that may be a good thing. Although you may have to have your ferret neutered, much like de Blasio is neutering the NYPD.
But you can take comfort in knowing that while he’s weakening the so-called “thin blue line,” de Blasio has increased the height of the fence around Gracie Mansion, where he lives.
Unlike groundhogs and the honest, hard-working law-abiding citizens of New York, at least we know de Blasio is concerned for someone’s safety: his own.

And that’s just the top 20 or so. Be sure to read the rest. If you live in New York City without a face as high as de Blasio now has around his digs, moving out may be a winner of a New Year’s resolution, given the trend.
