Piers: Hillary ‘No Spring Chicken,’ Walker ‘Smart’

Former CNN anchor and the Daily Mail Online’s US Editor-at-Large, Piers Morgan said that Hillary Clinton was “Ghost of Christmas Past to many people” and “no spring chicken” while praising Scott Walker as “smart” and clever,” and predicting Republicans will have a “new, and fresh, and interesting, and exciting” candidate in 2016 on Thursday’s “Morning Joe” on MSNBC.

“The problem that Hillary Clinton’s got is, the Republicans are going to clearly have somebody new, and fresh, and interesting, and exciting just because that’s what they’re going to have. Hillary Clinton is slightly Ghost of Christmas Past to many people. She didn’t beat Barack Obama. She’s no spring chicken, and I say that in the nicest possible way. And if I were the Democrats, I’d be thinking, ‘we’ve got to be very careful here, that we don’t put all our eggs into the Hillary Clinton basket and we end up with somebody who could actually lose.’ So, you know, the Republicans at the moment [are] having a little battle. I actually think Scott Walker’s playing a very clever game. I’ve always thought he was a smart guy. You can see the Chris Christie bubble has gone, in many ways. He’s got a big battle to get back. And so if I was a betting man right now, I’d think someone like Scott Walker against Hillary Clinton is a very interesting matchup, which I think would benefit the Republicans” he stated.
