The White House is not happy with an ad that ran in the New York Times accusing National Security Adviser Susan Rice of having a blind spot about genocide.
The ad was strongly criticized by White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest who called it a “despicable attack.”
“Susan Rice has a blind spot: Genocide,” the ad reads, with Rice’s face portrayed next to a pile of human skulls. “Both the Jewish people’s and Rwanda’s.”
The ad was paid for by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s group “This World: The Values Network.” It attacked Rice after she described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming speech to Congress as “destructive” to America’s relationship with Israel.
The ad was denounced by several Jewish groups as well as the office of Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.
“It’s a despicable attack and it’s one that I was gratified to see be repudiated by the Israeli Prime Minister’s office,” Earnest said, reacting to the ad.
