Axelrod on Hillary Email: ‘I Knew She Had That Account’

Despite having previously denied the existence of a personal email account held by Hillary Clinton during her tenure as secretary of state, it was revealed in a document dump of those emails that had occurred on Tuesday that former Obama adviser David Axelrod had indeed corresponded with the email in question, thus had to have knowledge of it.

In an appearance on MSNBC  on Wednesday, Axelrod attempted to clarify that position in an interview with host Thomas Roberts.

“Well, everybody — most people in the government had private accounts for private sorts of emails,” he said. “I was referred to that account when I wanted to send her a note because she had been injured and I wanted to just send her a note telling her I hoped she was feeling better. And I sent it to that account. And I’ve never ever – I’ve always said that I knew she had that account. What I didn’t know was that she used that account exclusively, and I certainly didn’t know that she had her own server. Those were things that I just learned with everybody else later on.”
