Donald Trump’s spokesman Jason Miller describes South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as a “pretty easy pick for the President-elect” as the ambassador to the United Nations.

“She’s done a fantastic job with the state of South Carolina and helping to improve the economy — that’s including a number of overseas trade and business recruitment missions,” Miller told reporters on Wednesday morning. “I think there was also a natural chemistry between the two when they met.”

Trump officially announced earlier on Wednesday that he plans to nominate Haley as the United States ambassador to the United Nations.

Miller described Haley as a “pretty easy pick for the President-elect as he greatly respects and admires her.”

Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants and was the first woman governor of South Carolina.

Under her leadership, South Carolina’s unemployment hit a 15-year low, as she created 82,000 jobs in her state.
