Hundreds of thousands of “deplorable” Donald Trump supporters have been pouring into Washington, D.C. to witness his historic inauguration on Friday.
Many of them expressed their excitement and pride over social media, tweeting about the exclusive “DeploraBall” that approximately 1,000 lucky individuals were invited to. Others, traveling far and wide to be present for the event, tweeted pictures of themselves in the greater D.C. area.

Twice failed presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton referred to Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables” during the campaign.
At least 65 Congressional Democrats have decided to boycott Trump’s inauguration, and at least 14 of those are from the deep blue state of California.
Reps. Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks) and Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) decided not to miss out on the historic event.
“I think we’ve got to show respect for the process, and the way to do that is to do it when the process gives us the wrong answer,” Sherman said of his decision to attend. “It’s easy to support the process when it gives you the right answer.”

Republican lawmakers also took the opportunity to tweet their support and excitement:

Officials expect about one million people to attend, and they also worry about the arrival of hundreds of thousands of protesters who are expected to attend a march the next day. Some have suggested the inauguration could see up to 750,000 demonstrators.
Violence has already erupted, as Hillary Clinton supporters and “Never Trump-ers” took to the streets starting on Thursday to express their opposition to the election results.

Authorities are on high alert for the “Women’s March” on Washington on January 21, which nearly 200 progressive groups have signed up for.
Among them are women who will be wearing pink “pussyhats” — a play on comments Trump made many years ago and which were released by the media in an unsuccessful attempt to take him down.
