Operator Coffee: Featuring Armed Baristas and ‘Veteran-Roasted Freedom’

Operator Coffee is preparing to open shops in various Texas locations, all of which will feature armed baristas and tasty cups of “veteran-roasted freedom.”

The business is veteran-owned and provides an alternative to Americans who are tired of sitting in coffee shops where the sight of a gun or a “These Colors Don’t Run’ shirt draws the ire of the shop owner.

According to the Operator Coffee website, the company’s owners “are a group of airborne veterans, special operations veterans, and active members of the shooting community.”  They said their idea for “Operator Coffee was born out of a love for quality coffee and the desire for a way to get veterans and shooters together.”

The owners use the company web page to explain that they want the coffee shop to be a place veterans can gather as they return from combat zones and struggle with re-acclimating to civilian life. The owners observe:

When veterans leave the military it is easy for depression to set in. The loss of military and combat brotherhood, combined with a belief in being misunderstood by the civilian world can be overwhelming. With veteran suicide on the rise, we want to create a place for veterans to get together, reestablish that bond, and seek support from brothers and like minded individuals.

But the owners of Operator Coffee also stress that they want their stores to be a place where Second Amendment supporters gather too. Ideally, they want Operator Coffee to be a place where “the second amendment, veterans, law enforcement, and traditional conservative values” come together.

Their online store opens later in July, with brick and mortar stores scheduled to open in The Woodlands (Houston, Texas) in spring 2018, Dallas in summer 2019, and San Antonio in fall 2019.

The Operator Coffee website contains a Wall of Heroes, honoring a number of warriors who died while deployed to defend our freedom.
