An armed resident defending his mobile home in Silver City, New Mexico, killed one invasion suspect and wounded another around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to KOB, two residents were inside the mobile home when the suspects allegedly began “trying to break in and rob the place.” One of the residents opened fire on the suspects, killing one on the spot and wounding the other.

The Silver City Sun-News reports that the wounded suspect fled the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, only to be apprehended later. He was flown to a trauma center in El Paso, Texas, and hospitalized in stable condition.

Police report that neither of the mobile home’s residents was harmed.

The suspects’ identities have not been released.
