As a 56-year-old Akron, Ohio, mother talked to a 911 dispatcher, her son could be heard in the background firing two shots at an alleged home intruder.

The shots proved fatal.

Fox 8 reports that the son was visiting his mother when a man allegedly tried to “force his way through the back door.”

After the first shot, the mother can be heard saying, “Somebody is trying to break in my house.” She quickly adds, “My son had to shoot the guy — he’s breaking in the house.”

Police explained that the son tried to hold the door so the suspect could not pull it open, but eventually had to fire again. Following the second shot, the son can be heard saying, “Get the F**k out of here.”

The suspect, 41-year-old Daniel Jones, died at the scene.

Police indicated the homeowner did not know Jones and “could not have second guessed his motives for attempting to force his way into the house.”
