A Deltona, Florida, mother shot an intrusion suspect during a 911 call with police early Tuesday morning. The injured assailant explained he was “running from dinosaurs” at the time of the incident.

The Associated Press reports the mother confronted the suspect, 32-year-old Joseph Roberts, as he was allegedly breaking into the house through a window. The house is where the mother, three of her children “and three of their friends live.”

The mother called 911 and said, “I don’t want to shoot him, but I’m going to have to!”

During the audio of the call the dispatcher could hear the mother screaming, “Get out of my window! Get out of my window!”

Roberts could be heard trying to calm the mother down as he allegedly entered the home, then a shot rings out.

WESH2 reports that when officers first arrived on scene Roberts told them he was running from dinosaurs.

Roberts was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.
