None other than star New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is helping the Boston Celtics recruit NBA superstar Kevin Durant in the Hamptons on Saturday.

Durant is having meetings with the Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, and San Antonio Spurs this weekend as he decides where to take his considerable talents.

One NBA executive reportedly wondered why the Celtics were bringing a quarterback sponsored by Under Armour to meet with one of Nike’s brightest stars. Some NBA officials have whispered that some Nike executives may want Durant to land in Golden State to steal some of the spotlight from Under Armour’s biggest basketball star—Steph Curry—after Curry ditched Nike for Under Armour. Curry left Nike for Under Armour after Nike carelessly and embarrassingly botched its presentation to the Curry family by mispronouncing Curry’s first name and using a recycled Power Point presentation the company apparently used for Kevin Durant.
