The Las Vegas Police Department has issued a brief statement saying they are investigating a charge of police brutality issued Wednesday by Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett.
Bennett charged LVMP officers with slamming him to the ground, holding a gun to his head and threatening to “blow my f-ing head off.”
The incident happened last Saturday night, as Bennett was leaving the Mayweather-McGregor fight.
After the player’s Tweeted statement about the encounter, the police made a short statement of their own.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Las Vegas Police Department tweeted a response saying, “Reference a statement made by Michael Bennett, this case is under investigation. Reserve judgment. We will address this publicly today:”
