Nearly 850 pounds of cocaine was discovered in shipments of bananas from Ecuador to Germany.

In 26 cases of bananas from Ecuador, some 847 pounds of cocaine was discovered by an employee with the German wholesale retailer ‘Leverkusen,’ which is located near the German city of Cologne, according to the Associated Press.

According to German police, the cocaine was found hidden in one-kilogram bags inside the banana cases, and even found a GPS transmitter which they believe was placed by the drug cartels to easily find the cocaine packages once they arrived in Hamburg.

Police still are unsure as to how much the cocaine is worth.

Two months ago, Breitbart Texas reported how U.S. Border Patrol officers seized nearly $6 million in cocaine after drug smugglers tried to enter the U.S. with the shipment in a border area that is largely controlled by the Los Zetas Cartel.

Last year, the Sinaloa Cartel attempted to move a massive shipment of cocaine from Ecuador to Mexico by smuggling it into containers filled with salsa, as Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles reported.
