President Obama’s approval ratings have been cratering in the one place where his approval ratings matter most, the United States. MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow wanted to find the one place in the world where Obama is still loved. He found that place in Kenya.
As far as Farrow could tell, Kenya, the birthplace of Barack Obama, Sr., is still in love with the president.
“We’ve heard about President Obama’s poll numbers here in the United States, including those pretty dim assessments of his handling of the rest of the world,” Farrow said as he began his report. “But out in the wide world, there is one place he can always call home–if they have anything to do with it.”
Farrow then interviewed several Kenyans about Obama and found that they still love him. Farrow even found one Kenyan who had written a song for the President.
The young reporter concluded by quipping, “Just think: they don’t even have Obamacare yet.”
This neophyte reporter seemed to have enjoyed his paid trip to Africa. Farrow has been handed quite a few perks in his brand new, 17-day-old journalism career. On top of his all-expenses-paid trip to Africa, on the second day of his journalism career, he even won an award for “excellence in journalism.”
Mr. Farrow, it seems, is on the fast track.
