Alex Swoyer will be joining Breitbart News Network as its newest Capitol Hill reporter, covering politics, policy, the 2016 elections, and scandals in Washington.

Swoyer, who starts on Monday, joins Breitbart from the Washington Times, where she has served as a multimedia journalist and handled the Times’s video content.

“We are focused on building the best-in-class political team on Capitol Hill,” Breitbart News Network Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon said. “We see Alex as a key player in this effort.”

“We’re very excited that Alex is joining our growing team of tough political reporters ahead of this critical election cycle, and we look forward to great things from her in the coming months and years,” Breitbart News Network CEO Larry Solov said.

“Alex is talented and energetic, which will help Breitbart News cover more stories and engage in more ‘fights that matter’ on Capitol Hill,” Alex Marlow, Breitbart News Network’s editor-in-chief said.

“I’m looking forward to joining the Breitbart team at an exciting time with campaign season revving its engine, and also at a time where government corruption needs to be uncovered and exposed,” Swoyer added.

Swoyer, 27, graduated from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism with a bachelor’s degree in 2010 before attending the Ave Maria School of Law to earn her law degree in 2013. A licensed attorney, Swoyer has worked throughout the years for several local television and radio affiliates in Missouri, Florida, and her native Texas. She has also competed in various pageants, finishing as a semi-finalist in this past year’s Miss Washington, D.C., USA pageant hosted by Donald Trump and NBC Universal and previously served as Miss Southwest Florida while attending Ave Maria Law School.

She has interviewed major political figures like Dr. Ben Carson, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Mr. Trump, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and nationally syndicated radio host Mark Levin, among many others.

Her work has been featured on the Drudge Report, Sean Hannity’s Fox News program, several local Washington, D.C., television stations, Dateline, and 48 Hours, among many more.
