Thursday on MSNBC’s “Now With Alex Wagner,” White House communications director Jennifer Palmieri admitted the White House was surprised by how bad Tuesday’s midterm election turned out for Democrats.
Palmieri said, “We were braced for a bad night and it was for a bad night, it was worse than we expected and a lot of democrats that served the country well, and Kay Hagan and Mark Pryor and Mark Udall and it’s a big disappointment and loss and a lot of great gubernatorial candidates like Mary Burke in Wisconsin didn’t win. And it was a very tough night for us and the president said he got the message from the voters who didn’t go our way and concerned for the people that felt they didn’t have enough stake in the elections to turn out.”
