Dean: Dems Have 'Uphill Climb' in 2016

Former Vermont Governor and DNC Chairman Howard Dean declared that Democrats will have “an uphill climb” to win the presidency in 2016 on Thursday’s “NOW with Alex Wagner” on MSNBC.

“I think definitely, it’s going to be an uphill climb in 2016. The Republicans just clobbered us in an election.  Actually, I take that back, we clobbered ourselves because everybody seemed to think it was a good idea to run with no message whatsoever except ‘Oh gee, I don’t like President Obama either, don’t blame me’… this is going to be a tough election in 2016 for president and nobody should think that anybody is going to walk into the White House. We have to see who they [Republicans] nominate” he argued.

He did offer praise of Clinton, saying “young women are incredibly excited about the possibility of a Hillary Clinton presidency. So, I actually think she can put together something like the coalition that elected President Obama in 2008 and 2012.”
