Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), who has endorsed GOP presidential candidate Florida Senator Marco Rubio stated that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump not showing up to the Fox News Channel’s debate “should disqualify you for president right there” on Thursday’s “Kilmeade & Friends” on Fox News Radio.
Chaffetz was asked about Trump’s criticisms of GOP candidate Texas Senator Ted Cruz [relevant remarks begin around 2:15] that he doesn’t have any friends in Washington. He said that he didn’t “want to have any disparaging comments.”
Later, while talking about Trump skipping the debate, Chaffetz wondered, “Who doesn’t want to show up with Megyn Kelly for 2 hours? That should disqualify you for president right there. My goodness, come on, you can’t sit there and answer the hard questions? That — there’s nothing set in stone that says you have to do it, but they limited the number of debates this year.”
