Pence: GOP NC Headquarters Attack Was an ‘Inexcusable’ Act of ‘Political Terrorism’

Tuesday in Hillsborough, NC, Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN) toured the Republican headquarters that were firebombed over the weekend and an adjacent building was spray painted with the threat “Nazi Republicans leave town or else,” and a swastika.

After making a statement Pence took questions.

Partial transcript as follows:

REPORTER: Could you tell me what, if anything, what you think this says about this year’s campaign season?

PENCE: Well, I’m not in the habit of blaming victims of crime, and what happened here on Saturday night was utterly inexcusable. It was an act of political terrorism against the good people of Orange County and really against the American political system. I think it—we, all of us across the political spectrum, condemn the acts that took place this weekend in the strongest possible terms and we’d do well to do that.”
