Obama: Hillary Represents ‘Pragmatic’ Politics At a Time Where Assumption Is We Have ‘No Time’ For Those Who Disagree

On Monday’s broadcast of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” President Obama argued that “at a time in our politics when everybody wants to get 100% of what they want right now, and the assumption is if somebody else doesn’t agree with you, then they’re completely wrong, and we got no time for them,” Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton represents a “pragmatic” brand of politics.

Obama said, “I think that at a time in our politics when everybody wants to get 100% of what they want right now, and the assumption is if somebody else doesn’t agree with you then they’re completely wrong, and we got no time for them, that the brand of politics that Hillary represents, which is pragmatic, and says that you don’t get everything done all at once, you do — you make progress in little pieces at a time. That may not attract as much attention. It’s not something that goes into 140 characters as easily, but I think she will be an outstanding president.”
