Surveillance video shows the moment an auto body shop owner in Tennessee tried to stop a thief from getting away with a truck he was servicing.
Tim Rodifer, owner of Mr. Transmission, saw a man climb into a truck after he walked away from it to get paperwork last week.
The surveillance footage shows the thief, later identified as Cody Smith, walk up to the gray 2006 Dodge Dakota, get in and begin to drive off.
Rodifer then runs up to the truck and goes through the window to stop him.
Smith drives off with Rodifer still clinging to the side. As the truck speeds up, Rodifer eventually falls off.
He suffered a bruised hip bone and scrapes and bruises from the incident.
Per WCYB, Rodifer’s daughter, Olivia Harrison posted the surveillance video on Facebook. After the video made its way around the Internet, police were tipped off to arrest Smith.
Smith has been charged with car jacking, aggravated assault and driving on a revoked license.
