During a statement on Tuesday, President Trump announced that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is heading to North Korea in preparation for the president’s meeting with Kim Jong-un and that the location, time, and date of the president’s meeting with Kim has been set.
Trump said, “Today’s action sends a critical message, the United States no longer makes empty threats. When I make promises, I keep them. In fact, at this very moment, Secretary Pompeo is on his way to North Korea, in preparation for my upcoming meeting with Kim Jong-un.”
He later added, “Secretary Pompeo is right now going to North Korea. … He’s got meetings set up. We have our meeting scheduled. We have our meeting set. The location is picked. The time and date, everything is picked.”
