Senator Orrin Hatch and Congressman Steve King have demanded Eric Holder resign from his position as Attorney General of the United States. 

Senator Hatch made the announcement on former Governor Mike Huckabee’s radio show. “Well, if he doesn’t cooperate with the Congress on this Fast and Furious, where one of our agents was killed because of the stupidity of this administration, then he ought to step down,” the senator said.

He becomes the fifth senator to call for Mr. Holder’s resignation. He joins Senators John Cornyn, Jim DeMint, Johnny Isakson, and James Inhofe.

Congressman King made his announcement on Chicago’s “The Steve Cochran Show.”

“I will say it now, and I’ll break it on your program: Yes, I am ready,” Rep King said. “I think the time has come, and I think for Eric Holder to be responsible to his oath of office, and to the United States of America, he can no longer be an effective attorney general. He should step down.”

Rep. King has been a critic of Mr. Holder for some time but was hesitant to call for his resignation. Previously, he did sign Rep Paul Gosar’s House resolution of no confidence in Mr. Holder.

Now five senators, two sitting governors (Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Rick Perry of Texas), GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, and 129 representatives have called for Mr. Holder to resign.
