Report: Alleged Connecticut Shooter's Parent Found Dead in New Jersey

The alleged gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut shot and killed one of his parents in New Jersey before heading to the Connecticut school, according to Pete Williams of NBC.

The deceased gunman, believed to have been a 20 year-old Connecticut man who was originally from New Jersey, allegedly shot and killed at least 27 people, including 18 children at the school. The shooter is reported to have been dressed in black and carrying two guns.

CBS News’ John Miller is reporting that the gunman was from New Jersey and was the father of one of the students at the school. CBS News is also reporting that the shooter was the son of a female teacher at the school, who was also killed in the shooting.

Authorities have yet to release official information about the shooter. The school massacre is reported to be one of the worst school shootings in American history.
