Donald Trump to Speak at CPAC

On Tuesday, the American Conservative Union announced that Donald Trump will speak at its 40th annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which will be held in Washington, D.C. at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center from Thursday, March 14th to Saturday, March 16th.

In announcing the appearance of Mr. Trump, American Conservative Union Chairman Al Cardenas said, “Donald Trump is an American patriot and success story with a massive following among small government conservatives. I look forward to welcoming him back to the CPAC stage next week.”

Cardenas noted, “Mr. Trump’s previous CPAC appearance was hugely popular among our attendees and we expect it will be even more popular this year.”

Mr. Trump made his fortune in New York City real estate and is well known throughout the country for his long-running NBC television series, The Apprentice. He has also written numerous best selling books, including The Art of the Deal, The America We Deserve, How To Get Rich, and Think Like a Champion.

Mr. Trump is a frequent guest on Greta Van Susteren’s Fox News television program On The Record, and has recently made remarks highly critical of the Republican establishment’s political failures in the 2012 campaign. He has also been one of the most steadfast public supporters of the Tea Party movement.

Other noted speakers scheduled for CPAC this year include Dr. Benjamin Carson, the Johns Hopkins University Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery who recently came to prominence when he delivered a speech criticizing Obamacare to an audience that included President Obama, Minnesota Congressman Michele Bachmann, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
