WH on IRS Head During Conservative Targeting: No Suggestion 'She Did Anything Wrong'

IRS Scandal

The White House, in full defense mode, sent out White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer on Fox News Sunday to explain just why the woman behind the IRS’ tax-exempt division during its targeting of conservative groups shouldn’t be fired. “No one has suggested that she did anything wrong yet,” said Pfeiffer of Sarah Hall Ingram, the woman who is currently heading up the IRS’ implementation of Obamacare. “Before everyone in this town convicts this person in the court of public opinion with no evidence, let’s actually get the facts and make decisions after that. There’s nothing that suggests she did anything wrong.”

Pfeiffer promised a full investigation into IRS activities with regard to conservative non-profits. Even though the White House has defended Ingram, it has attempted to throw her successor, who took office long after the scandal, under the bus. Joseph Grant is now retiring, even though he took office long after the IRS had corrected itself.
