GA Lawmakers Vote on Expanding Concealed Carry to Churches, Bars, Airports

On February 18, Georgia lawmakers will vote on expanding the exercise of concealed carry to include churches, bars, and non-secured portions of airports.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the carry expansions are contained in House Bill 875, sponsored by Representative Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper).

In addition to opening up churches, bars, and non-secured portions of airports, HB 875 would also “decriminalize guns on college campuses if the person carrying has a license.” Rather than face criminal charges, a person in possession of a gun in such conditions would simply face a $100 fine.

The Republican majority has already limited debate to two hours on HB 875, stipulating that “no amendments will be allowed on the floor.”
