Female Homeowner Shoots, Kills Intruder Entering House with Knife
On April 4th, a female homeowner in Autauga County, Alabama, shot and killed a man forcing his way into her house with a knife.
According to WSFA.com, Autauga County Chief Deputy Joe Sedinger said 18-year-old Michael Steven Smith "knocked on the door and tried to gain entrance by saying he needed help, that he was broke down." When the homeowner came to the door, Smith "pushed the door open" and entered the house with a knife.
At that point the homeowner "feared for her safety, and for that of her niece," so she "fired several shots at the intruder."
The intruder was able to run about 30 feet from the home before collapsing. He was later pronounced dead.
