Hillary Confesses: 'Dead Broke' Comment Was 'Inartful'
Former Secretary Hillary Clinton admitted that she probably made a mistake when she suggested that she and Bill Clinton were “dead broke” after leaving the White House.
“Let’s say I shouldn’t have said I think five or so words that I said,” Clinton said, “But you know my inartful use of those few words doesn’t change who I am, what I’ve stood for my entire life what I stand for today.”
Clinton made her comments during an interview with PBS anchor Gwen Ifill.
Clinton added that although Bill Clinton defended her in an interview with NBC’s David Gregory on Tuesday, it wasn’t necessary.
“My husband was very sweet … but I don’t need anybody to defend my record,” she said. “I think my record speaks for itself.”
Bill Clinton insisted that Hillary's comments were "factually true" citing the millions of dollars of debt that they had when they left the White House
Clinton added that they were “very grateful” for the “terrific opportunities” that had but reminded the audience that she and Bill Clinton worked hard to achieve their success.
