Irony Anyone?: Comedian Famous for Vile Anti-Palin Tweets Calls Palin 'Coarse'

Some classless, sexually obsessed, angry comedian tweeting vile things about Sarah Palin is probably pretty common these days. It’s also probably a safe way to get your anti-woman rage on without running into the Speech Police who derailed Andrew Dice Clay’s career. After all, as we saw last week on Stephen Colbert’s show, the big asterisk next to the New Tone is our favorite mother of five from Alaska.

Back in September, the reason I found Louis CK’s breathtakingly vile Palin Tweets noteworthy was due to the speculation that Jay Leno’s Tonight Show was in on the joke. It’s more than a little disturbing to know that Louis CK’s crude sexual taunts had already gone viral online before he appeared with Jay Leno a day or so later … sitting right next to Bristol Palin. Even Gawker wondered if Leno was in on the “joke.”

Today, HitFix has an extensive interview with Mr. CK, where he addresses the Palin issue and appears to take some credit for the former Governor’s recent trip to Haiti. Some revealing stuff follows, emphasis mine…

HITFIX: I follow you on Twitter and there are these times on occasion where if you’re on an airplane and Sarah Palin comes up and…

Louis CK: I don’t do that anymore.

HF: Why not?

CK: Well, I’m not what I used to be. It’s been a big year and… I don’t know. I don’t know man. I’m very ambivalent about it. That’s why I did it a couple of times.

I’m not what I used to be. I’m assuming that means he thinks he’s a better person now, because unless felonies are involved, it would be hard for him to go the other way. For his sake, let’s hope he’s been able to tamp down some on the self-loathing, as well.

HF: Yeah?

CK: The first time I did it I thought, “I should not have done that. I’m not going to do it again.” And then I did it again because I thought, “Fuck these people.” Who says you can’t say something, you know? How fucking sacred is this person who’s never contributed one thing to anyone’s life but her own? And not even thinking about her politically or whatever she represents, it’s just that she’s just a coarse, selfish person who has ferocious protection and it makes no sense to me. …

Never contributed anything to anyone’s life but her own? That has to be projection. Palin’s been a mayor, a governor, and is currently a mother of five who selflessly brought a Downs Syndrome baby into the world (a child Mr. Selfless Contributor infamously mocked in the crudest ways imaginable). Furthermore, one of Palin’s sons served his country honorably in Iraq. In the comments, would someone please list all Louis CK’s selfless contributions.

And did the same guy who tweeted this just label someone else “coarse” without lightening striking?

By the way, I said something that I think is true, I wrote one Twitter that I said, please find me a picture of Sarah Palin with more than one black person because I couldn’t find one. And then she went to Haiti a week later. She threw together a trip to Haiti. So I believe I made that happen. So that’s positive.

Well, there’s Louis’s contribution! His enormous influence and moral authority convinced Sarah Palin to go to Haiti.
