'Two and a Half Men' Star Begins Damage Control While Family Fears Religious Brainwashing

Angus T. Jones’ friends and family members are reeling from the young actor’s disparaging comments regarding his hit TV show, “Two and a Half Men.”

A source close to the situation tells E! News that both Jones’ mom, Carey, and those who work with him on his CBS sitcom want to make sure the 19-year-old actor hasn’t been “brainwashed” by his new church….

But according to our source, Jones’ involvement with Hudson has set off alarms with those close to him. “His mom is really worried and in contact with the producers of the show. The main concern is that he is going to give away all his money to the church,” the insider explains.”It’s like he’s been brainwashed. Everyone is shocked and very concerned.”

Jones started some career damage control today with a statement released to Deadline.com.

Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked over the past ten years and who have become an extension of my family….

I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed.  I never intended that.
