Not Funny: 'Community' Star Says Chevy Chase Nearly Came to Blows on Set

Chevy Chase appeared to resurrect his dormant career with his supporting turn on NBC’s Community only to remind us rumors of his dark behavior may in fact have been true.

Chase’s tenure with the low-rated show favored by hipsters everywhere ended recently, but show lead Joel McHale said Chase didn’t bow out without a fight.

At least the former Saturday Night Live star was itching for one before he said adieu, according to an interview with McHale on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show.

McHale said that Chase had no desire to be involved in the show, and when he attempted to talk to him about it, there were repercussions.

“When I would try, he would just try to fight me. He physically wanted to fight me,” McHale tells Stern.

Stern himself held a nasty, long-running feud with Chase, but the two later put the squabbling behind them.
