'Bible' Miniseries End on High Ratings Note Despite 'Dead,' 'Thrones' Competition

The final installment of The History Channel’s The Bible had two very big reasons for failing to live up to ratings expectations.

The Walking Dead. Game of Thrones.

The former aired the final episode of its third season last night on AMC, and the latter HBO series came back for the first time this year.

Yet The Bible still drew 11.7 million viewers, showing the miniseries had plenty of staying power as well as the ability to beat back wildly popular viewing options. In fact, the final Bible episode’s ratings were up 14 percent from the previous week’s installment.
