The plot for Monday night’s SpongeBob, You’re Fired episode drew the expected controversy late last month, with conservatives applauding the show for its bootstrap pulling motif and liberals swatting its alleged attack on those looking for work.

Now, we’re learning the episode gave the show its biggest ratings coup in two years–5.2 million viewers.
