Iranian forces fired on an unarmed US drone in the Gulf last week but the aircraft was not hit, a Pentagon spokesman said Thursday.

"Our aircraft was never in Iranian air space," spokesman George Little told a news conference, who added the drone was conducting "routine" surveillance over international waters.
