State Department Releases Names of Americans Killed in Algeria Terrorist Attack

The U.S. State Department has confirmed that three Americans were killed in last week’s Algerian terror attack.

Their names–Victor Lynn Lovelady, Gordon Lee Rowan, and Frederick Buttaccio.

Seven U.S. citizens survived the terrorist attack, but, in light of understandable privacy concerns, the State Dept. is withholding their names.

The Obama administration has condemned the attackers and is working with the Algerian government to find ways to “combat such threats in the future.”

The terrorist attack took place on Wednesday, Jan. 16. The stand-off and hostage situation that followed ended on Jan. 19, with an Algerian military raid that left the majority of the hostage-takers dead along with a number of hostages.
