Pillowcase Rapist Released Despite Local Protests

Furious protesters met Christopher Hubbart, the “pillowcase rapist,” as he was released to his new home in Palmdale. He has raped dozens of women, including at least 15 in the Bay Area.

Norma Valenti said, “I want him to go away. I want him to fear us so bad, because we’ll be here day and night, whatever it takes. I want him to feel the fear that his women that he attacked felt.”

Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Gilbert Brown, who ordered Hubbart released in 2013, later approved the location.

Hubbart had admitted that he raped roughly 40 women between 1971 and 1983, starting in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties in 1982. He was classified as a sexually violent predator in 1996, and is the first sexually violent predator to be conditionally released in Los Angeles County.
