Mark O'Meara Shoots 67, One Shot Off Lead

Mark O’Meara, the 1998 British Open champion, shot a 4-under 67 in his first round of the Open Championship in Thursday at Muirfield.

The 56-year-old was actually 5-under at the turn before promptly bogeying three out of the next seven holes to go back to 2-under.

He then promptly eagled the par-5 17th hole to a thunderous roar, parred the 18th hole to finish the day in tough afternoon conditions at 4-under and one shot behind leader Zach Johnson, who finished his morning round at 5-under.
