James Taylor Flubs Start of National Anthem

Before Game 2 of the World Series in Boston on Thursday Night, singer James Taylor messed up the start of National Anthem when he started to sing “America the Beautiful” instead of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

Taylor “quickly caught his mistake and switched over to the National Anthem after the first few words.”

As Fox News noted, Twitter users mocked the legendary folk singer for his faux paus:

“I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain and at least I know which song is the #nationalanthem,” one user quipped.

“James Taylor is great and all, but he just made up his own National Anthem,” another noted.

Others defended the singer, who led the crowd in a rendition of “America the Beautiful” with Boston Marathon victims during the seventh inning stretch.
