Brazilian Fans in Tears While Germany Humiliates Host Nation

Germany was crushing Brazil so badly in the World Cup semifinals on Tuesday that Brazilian fans were seen sobbing throughout the stadium.

Brazil, which has five World Cup titles, had not lost an international soccer match at home since 1975, but Germany humiliated them by scoring five goals in 18 minutes in the first half.

Brazil was playing without its all-world superstar Neymar, who was almost paralyzed in Friday's quarterfinal win against Colombia, and its captain and key center back Thiago Silva, who got a foolish yellow card in Friday's game. That yellow card was his second before the semifinals, which warranted a one-game suspension.

Brazil's 7-1 loss was the country's worst loss in 94 years. The home team still has one more game left. Brazil plays the loser of the Argentina-Netherlands semifinal in the third-place game on Saturday.
