Reporters Revolt: White House Slammed For Using Anonymous Sources

Monday at the daily press briefing, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest faced an angry pool of reporters who grilled him over his attack on a recent Washington Post story that used anonymous sources.

White House Correspondents CBS’ Major Garrett, Associated Press’s Julie Pace, and McClatchy’s Anita Kumar all got into a heated debate with Earnest over the White House’s regular practice of calling reporters on background details of the administrations positions with anonymous sources.

When Julie Pace and Major Garrett pushed back asking if the White House will stop using the off the recored calls, Earnest could only say it was up to the reporters to place the proper “weight” of the information.
