Monday on MSNBC’s “The Ed Show,” host Ed Schultz said Gov. Jay Nixon (D-MO) deployment of the Missouri National Guard to protect the St Louis suburb of Ferguson is “asking for another Kent State.”
Referencing May 4, 1970 when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on protesting college students killing four and wounding nine others, the MSNBC host said, “It makes no sense. He’s asking for another Kent State.”
“And the bottom line here is, is that Gov. Nixon has not been down into that community and talked to those people face to face at any time as of late since this shooting took place,” he added.
