Family Aided by George Zimmerman Cancels Press Conference

The Orlando Sentinel has published 911 calls which came in after a car crash in Sanford, Florida on July 17th. George Zimmerman was identified by one of the victims as one of two people who helped pull his family from an overturned vehicle.

Though Zimmerman is not mentioned by name, callers do mention that there are already people at the scene of the crash helping to pull the family out of the overturned Ford Explorer. No one was injured in the one vehicle crash.

The family involved in the accident has been identified as Mark and Dana Gerstle and their two children. They had initially agreed to give a press conference at the offices of Zimmerman’s defense attorney Wednesday afternoon. However, they reconsidered over fears they could become targets of the anti-Zimmerman crowd if they speak out.

The Gerstle’s refused to speak to media outlets camped outside their home, but unidentified friends of the family told the Daily Mail “Whatever he says could be taken out of context. If he praises Zimmerman then people will say he is making him into a hero. It is easier if he says nothing.”
