Breitbart News previously reported that on April 24, Judge Murray Snow both refused to recuse himself from a “racial-profiling” case involving Sheriff Joe Arpaio and ordered US Mashals to go to Arpaio’s office to seize documents and hard drives.

Fox 10 Phoenix reported that “federal agents seized about 1,400 identification cards and 50 hard drives” by the night of the 24th.

But on July 31, KTAR News reported that Judge Snow sent US Marshals back to Arpaio’s office “to retrieve an additional hard drive…and make a copy of it.” Monitors for Judge Snow indicated “They wanted an original drive that was the source of some content that was already turned over.” In addition to sending the Marshals back to the Sheriff’s office, Judge Snow asked attorneys to clear their schedules for “late September through early November” because that is when he plans to hold the contempt-of-court hearings against Arpaio.

The contempt-of-court hearings revolve around Arpaio’s alleged violations of court orders pertaining to racial profiling.

If found in contempt, Arpaio could face “fines, increased oversight of the [Sheriff’s office], and a possible criminal contempt hearing.”
