Grieving Dad: ‘I Trust Ted Cruz’ To Tear Up Obama Executive Order That Led To Son’s Death

Father Steve Ronnebeck says he trusts 2016 presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz to tear up the Obama executive order that allowed an illegal alien cartel member to remain in the United States, where he killed Ronnebeck’s son.

The Arizona father recalls the story of the son that was his “buddy from the minute [Grant] was born” in a new ad promoting Cruz for president ahead of Arizona’s presidential primary contest this coming Tuesday.

“He just brightened everybody, my family, my friends. He was everything.”

Ronnebeck recounts the story of his young son’s death and his hope for a Cruz presidency:

Grant had just been transferred to the store he worked at. He never had any reservations, never had any worry about going to work at night.

Apolinar Altimirano had come in and wanted to buy cigarettes. Altimirano then pulled a gun and pointed it at Grant. Grant immediately offered up the cigarettes and Altimirano then shot him point blank in the face.

Apolinar Altimirano was on 492 of his bond. Obama’s executive action caused the lag in the deportation hearing. My son’s death was completely preventable.

I trust Ted Cruz and I trust that he’s going to do the things he says he’s going to do. And I hope that I get to be there the day that President Cruz tears up those illegal executive actions instituted by President Obama.

Ronnebeck revealed details of illegal alien Altimirano in a September interview with Breitbart News at the SW Border Sheriff’s Conference. He relayed that the illegally present foreign national had a drug background, was a “self-proclaimed member of the Sinaloa cartel, the Mexican Mafia,” committed a sex crime and committed burglary.

Federal law H.R. 2942 — known as Grant’s Law — was built in response to the young man’s death. It was introduced in June 2015. It was referred to the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security last July. Rep. David Schweikert, who recently endorsed Cruz for president, is one of five Arizona republican representatives sponsoring or cosponsoring the bill.
