The young assistant to Matrix producer Joel Silver died in Bora Bora this past week.
The New York Daily News reports Carmel Musgrove, 28, had accompanied Silver and other Silver Pictures employees on a vacation when she went missing Wednesday.
According to a source, Musgrove’s body was found on the beach early Thursday, and local authorities believe she drowned.
Us Weekly reported Silver traveled to the island in early August to join Hollywood newlyweds Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux on their honeymoon festivities, but it’s unclear when Musgrove arrived.
A rep for Silver released a statement Friday, saying:
Joel Silver, his family and his staff are devastated by the passing of Carmel Musgrove.
Carmel was a dear friend and respected colleague with a very bright future ahead of her.
Musgrove’s mother declined to comment on the incident until the family received a response from its attorney.
Musgrove first interned for Silver on Lethal Weapon, and later became his assistant and an associate producer on the 2014 Liam Neeson film Non-Stop.
