Security Forms ‘Human Barrier’ After Fight Breaks Out at Beyoncé Concert

Security guards sprang into action at a Beyoncé concert in Scotland Thursday night as a fight reportedly broke out in the middle of the audience.

According to the UK’s Daily Record, security guards in bright yellow jackets quickly moved to form a “human barrier” at the singer’s concert in Glasgow’s Hampden Park when the fight broke out.

One Twitter user wrote that the guards’ human chain was preventing people from getting back to their seats:

Earlier in the evening, Beyoncé asked concert attendees to join her in a moment of silence for victims of police shootings. A large screen behind the singer displayed their names.

Beyoncé released a passionate statement about the police-involved shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile earlier on Thursday in which she begged law enforcement officers to “stop killing” black people.

“We’re going to stand up as a community and fight against anyone who believes that murder or any violent action by those who are sworn in to protect us should consistently go unpunished,” the Lemonade singer wrote. “These robberies of lives make us feel helpless and hopeless but we have to believe that we are fighting for the rights of the next generation, for the next young men and women who believe in good.”

Beyoncé also provided a link to her 77 million Instagram followers to contact their local representatives and ask that the “war” on minorities in America be ended.

“This is not a plea to all police officers but toward any human being who fails to value human life,” she said. “The war on people of color and all minorities needs to be over.”

The singer is currently in the middle of her Formation World Tour. Her next performance is set for Saturday night in Dublin, Ireland.
