After decades spent undermining Republican presidential candidates by raising questions about their health and age, Time Magazine just published a reassurance that Hillary Clinton (who is overweight and will be 69 when the next president is sworn in) is not only not too old, but THE PERFECT AGE TO BE PRESIDENT.

This is what Time Magazine wrote about Bob Dole in 1995 during his campaign for the presidency:

BOB DOLE: FACING THE AGE ISSUE

THE REPUBLICAN FRONT RUNNER TURNS 72. IS HE TOO OLD TO BE PRESIDENT? AND IS HE TOO OLD-FASHIONED A POLITICIAN TO LEAD HIS RADICALIZED PARTY?

Bob Dole celebrated his 72nd birthday last Saturday, an occasion of more than passing significance. For it reminded the leaders of his party, the pundits searching for big issues and perhaps even a few real live voters of the thing Dole would most like them to ignore: if he were to win the presidency in 1996, he would be the oldest man ever inaugurated. Even if age doesn’t matter, ideas do. At the very moment when voters have installed a generation of laser-guided, soul-driven Republican reformers, he finds himself cast as the embodiment of old-style, gear-grinding politics.

This is what Time Magazine wrote about John McCain in 2008 during his campaign for presidency:

How Healthy Is John McCain?

His bout with melanoma after the 2000 campaign makes his health and his age election issues today. Why he’s still at risk

This is what Time Magazine just published about Hillary Clinton:

Hillary Clinton Is the Perfect Age to Be President

As a psychiatrist, I will tell you the most interesting thing about menopause is what happens after. A woman emerging from the transition of perimenopause blossoms. It is a time for redefining and refining what it is she wants to accomplish in her third act. And it happens to be excellent timing for the job Clinton is likely to seek. Biologically speaking, postmenopausal women are ideal candidates for leadership. They are primed to handle stress well, and there is, of course, no more stressful job than the presidency.

Democrats sure got it good…
