The Sad Case of Mogens Camre: Criminalizing Dissent in Denmark

Danish politician Mogens Camre has become the latest casualty of the war against free speech.

Breitbart reported Wednesday that Camre, a “former member of the Danish parliament and European Parliament for the Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkpartei, DF) was convicted of racism offences handed a £750 fine on Tuesday. The conviction came after he made a tweet in 2014 lamenting the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe caused by the immigration of religiously intolerant Muslims.”

The Palestinian who was responsible for the charges against Mogens Camre is a 30-year-old violent criminal and drug dealer named Samir Badran. In 2009, Samir Badran was sentenced to six years in prison. His brother Saied Badran was at the same time sentenced to eight years in prison. The prosecutor demanded that they be deported from Denmark and barred from returning, but that did not happen. Nor was this Samir Badran’s first brush with the law: when he was seventeen years old, he was given a one-year “conditional” jail sentence for unlawful imprisonment, violence and threats.

None of that mattered when he charged Mogens Camre with “racism.” Camre, after all, committed the worst offense of all: criticizing Islamic anti-Semitism and, by implication, Europe’s suicidal immigration policies. He had to be punished. In the new multicultural Europe, dissent is not tolerated.

The 79-year-old Camre is a highly respected politician in the Danish People’s Party. He has for years been that party’s elected representative in the parliament of the European Union. Our colleague and European partner, Anders Gravers of Stop Islamization of Europe, commented: “As far as I am concerned, Mogens Camre is a hero for his courage and truth-telling.” And it’s true: this is what Camre said last July. Where is the “racism” in it?

“Regarding the Jews’ situation in Europe: The Muslims are continuing where Hitler left off. Only the same treatment Hitler received will change the situation… Forces in the Islamic world who threaten non-Muslims should be fought, as Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden and Gaddafi were.”

After World War II and up to the 1970s, Europe was a safe place for Jews. That changed when Muslim immigration into Europe began its sharp increase. Slowly but surely, Jew-hatred grew in Europe — not among non-Muslim native Europeans, but within Muslim communities.

In light of that, Mogens Camre is not a racist. He is enunciating and standing for unpopular truths. What’s more, in Denmark, as elsewhere in Europe, the laws regarding “hateful” or “racist” speech are applied selectively. In Denmark, Muslims can say whatever they want against Jews, Danes and Americans without facing any charges or any kind of penalty. In this video, a Palestinian speaks openly about wanting to kill all Israelis and erase Israel from the map, and the police just stand next to him, hearing everything he says, and do nothing.

There was also an imam in Denmark who said that all Jews should be killed, but he also received the “Muhammed discount”: no “hate speech” or “racism” charges in Denmark. And all it took was a 10,000-Euro fine to satisfy German authorities.

It is clear that in Denmark, “hate speech” and “racism” are crimes that can only be committed by non-Muslim Danes, not by Muslims – no matter how extreme and threatening what they say really is.

It seems as if the Islamization of Denmark is really speeding up – as it is all over Europe. Muslims in Denmark and all over the continent can say anything they wish, and express their contempt and hatred for Jews and other non-Muslims with absolute impunity and no fear of any real consequences — but as soon as a Dane speaks the truth, then all hell breaks lose. Several Danish Facebook sites that are critical of Islam have even been closed down by Facebook including my the Facebook group run by Gravers, Stop the Islamisation of Denmark (SIAD).

Denmark seems determined to commit suicide, and to silence and punish anyone who dares speak out against its present suicidal policies. This is absolute madness.
